Iron Man Three + Open Thread

Hey folks, it's been awhile.

I think it's safe to say this site's seen quite a bit of neglect in recent years. With the exception of last year's two year anniversary posts and a couple of posts towards the end of the year prior, I haven't really regularly posted content since the Captain America movie came out. Some of it was due to outside factors and some due to simply their not being a lot to post.

Hopefully this weekend will see that change a bit. Some of you may have noticed that Marvel recently made changes to their site (again) along with a name change from "Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited" to simply "Marvel Unlimited" (which means I've probably got some changes to make around here). Most improved, however, is the amount of comics being added to the collection. Comparing the last two months to the two months prior shows a drastic change in Marvel's support for the service. January and February had a little over 130 comics added, meanwhile March and April had over 1000! Coincidentally enough, a lot of those were Iron Man comics.

Which brings us to today. With Iron Man 3 coming out today (some of you may have already gotten to see it by now) I've got three runs to help celebrate the occasion. It begins at noon EST with Iron Man's 'Big Premiere' in his own titular series, penned by Archie Goodwin following his initial adventures in Tales of Suspense! On Saturday we'll move forward a bit into Bob Layton and David Michelinie's first legendary run with artist John Romita Jr. which includes the introduction of characters such as James Rhodes and Justin Hammer along with the character-defining story in "Demon in a Bottle." And finally on Sunday we'll move far ahead into the very recent past with Matt Fraction and Salvador Larocca's Invincible Iron Man. Launching alongside the release of the original Iron Man movie, it saw an Iron Man removed from S.H.I.E.L.D. power, his business destroyed and his Extremis abilities failing him. And that's just the start!

And if this isn't enough, I'd say stay tuned in the coming weeks. Hopefully there's quite a bit more on the way...

---

Despite my own silence, a few of you have popped up with some kind words (much appreciated!) over the past few months and at this point I'd like to open up the floor to anyone - questions, comments, complaints, compliments, requests...anything you want to say.
