Never The End

Hey. It’s been awhile! I’m writing this not even sure if anyone is going to see this, but I figured I’d put this out there anyway. Yesterday Marvel announced that Marvel Unlimited is being sunsetted and replaced by a new app by Webtoons.

As of right now, I’m not 100% sure what that means for this site. Obviously an all new app means new links and such, which means I'd have to go through the process of relinking issues again (if that's even possible). Incidentally, this isn’t even the first time I've experienced this here. But the orders themselves will still at least function as accurate lists if nothing else.

The last post I made on this page was during COVID lockdown...but behind the scenes I've actually been reworking this whole page since 2022. The core idea of curating issues was still the same, but my plan involved turning Marvel Then into a series a sub-sites, broken down by decade...

Marvel Then - The 1960s
Marvel Then - The 1970s
Marvel Then - The 1980s
Marvel Then - The 1990s
Marvel Then - The 2000s

I was most of the way through breaking down the issues of the 2010s before the news dropped yesterday. I was preparing a soft launch in a few months, but obviously those plans are scrapped for the time being. Whether or not I'll be able to redo all of the collections and links I've posted with the new service is to be determined and otherwise out of my hands. Maybe direct links aren't even an option. Maybe the new app will have issue organization built-in. I guess we'll all find out soon enough.

The new app launches November 16. Marvel Unlimited ends on December 28, 2026
